Curators

Karina Kottová (born 1984) is a curator and theoretician of contemporary art. She did her BA at the Faculty of Humanities of the Charles University in Prague, followed by an MA in Art and Heritage: Policy, Management and Education at the University of Maastricht, the Netherlands. In 2015, she defended her PhD thesis Institution and the Viewer at the T. G. Masaryk University in Brno, which was subsequently published by Display. She lives in Prague, where she currently works as director of the Jindřich Chalupecký Society. Karina also co-founded the INI Project – an independent plarform focused on process-based projects. In her curatorial practice, she is interested in the psychological and emotional impact of current socio-political challenges as well as in feminist theory and the subversive potential of the so-called “feminine” qualities, such as empathy, irrationality or intuition. She practices pole dance and is a happy mum of the four-year-old Bořivoj.

Piotr Sikora (born 1986) is a critic and curator of contemporary art. He did his MA at the Institute of Art History of the Jagiellonian University. His exhibition projects often refer to identity politics, stereotypes and bias associated with Central and Eastern Europe. His curatorial practice is focused on designing methods to deconstruct great narratives using the notions of irony, exaggeration and provocation. Sikora lives in Prague. As the Artist-in-Residence curator at MeetFactory, he initiated The New Dictionary of Old Ideas platform. He also teaches at the Anglo-American University. He is an avid bike polo player and dad of the aforementioned Bořivoj.
