Narracje 2025 in Aniołki
This year’s edition of NARRACJE takes place in the Gdańsk district of Aniołki, home to the University Clinical Centre, the Gdańsk Blood Donation Centre, a hospice and other medical institutions, as well as the People’s Meeting Square (Plac Zebrań Ludowych) and the Gdańsk Sports Centre stadium. The district’s landscape is characterised by beautiful townhouses accessed by narrow pavements and cobbled roads.
As the route runs close to – and at times through – the hospital complex and medical facilities, ambulance sirens may be frequent during the festival. Please remain alert and make way for emergency vehicles when necessary.
Terrain
Most of the district is relatively flat, although its edges include numerous slopes and stairways. The area is divided by the city’s main thoroughfare – Victory Avenue (al. Zwycięstwa). On one side lie the medical facilities; on the other, the park with its characteristic tank monument. Many paths lead through narrow, uneven pavements, sometimes obstructed by parked cars or protruding tree roots.
Route
This year’s festival works are located at various points across the district, both on the medical-facility side and in the park area. The route can easily be divided into smaller sections, allowing visitors to explore only selected parts.
The full route is approx. 8 km long and takes around 3–3.5 hours to walk at an average pace.
Printed festival maps are available at the InfoPoint (Gospoda Restaurant, 4 Gen. Giełguda St.).
Lighting
Street lighting is present throughout the route, but may be uneven in places. We recommend bringing a torch to safely navigate dimly lit areas.
Getting There
Tram stops along the NARRACJE route:
Brama Oliwska, Chodowieckiego, Uniwersytet Medyczny, Traugutta (tram no.: 2, 3, 6, 9, 12). Tram no. 6 runs every 10 minutes between 5 pm and 9 pm, and every 15 minutes between 9 pm and 12.30 am.
Bus stops:
Szpital Zakaźny (184, 115, 283), Centrum Medycyny Inwazyjnej (184, 115, 283), Smoluchowskiego (184, 115, 283), Traugutta (184, 115, 283), Uniwersytet Medyczny (184; night bus on request: N4, N14), Brama Oliwska (184; night bus on request: N4, N14).
The district is also accessible by SKM commuter train; however, due to construction work, Stocznia SKM station is closed on the Aniołki side. We recommend getting off at Gdańsk Główny and transferring to a tram.
Car: Parking within the district is limited, including spaces for disabled drivers. Two paid car parks (4 zł/h) operate near the InfoPoint: at People’s Meeting Square and by the garrison cemetery.
Due to the high frequency of ambulances in the area, we strongly recommend using public transport.
Bicycle: Aniołki has good cycle connections with neighbouring districts. Bicycle stands can be found near the university library and other service points along the route.
Recommendations
To ensure a comfortable festival experience, we suggest bringing:
- a torch (parts of the route are dark),
- warm clothing – jacket, shoes, gloves,
- trekking poles,
- a warm drink.
Before leaving home, please check the weather forecast to prepare for walking outdoors.
We also encourage visiting the route with company – to share impressions, provide mutual support, and enhance safety during evening and night-time walks.
Warnings and Challenges
- (sound, noise, crowd) The festival attracts large numbers of visitors each year. You may explore the route independently or join a guided tour, although tours tend to gather many people at once. Guides use microphones, which may increase noise levels. Ambulance sirens may also be frequent due to the proximity of medical facilities.
- (movement) Some sections of the route include narrow pavements and protruding tree roots that may make movement difficult. Streets around Tuwima and Śniadeckich are cobbled.
- (food, drink, toilets) The InfoPoint is located on the ground floor of a restaurant. Aniołki offers several dining and service points (near Gralath Park). Temporary food trucks are located by the Festival Club (PKP warehouse, access from 5 Kolejowa St.). Check the map to locate toilets. Toilets are free of charge but do not have baby-changing facilities.
- Festival artworks are intended for visual and auditory experience only. Please do not touch the works.
Festival Accessibility
- Guided tours in Polish Sign Language with spoken-language translation take place on both festival days at 5.30 pm, starting from the InfoPoint (4 Gen. Giełguda St.).

- This year, selected works include trigger warnings about sensitive content. Out of 20 works, 6 include references to violence or other difficult subjects.
