RaumZeitPiraten [DE]

In 2007 Tobias Daemgen and Moritz Ellerich founded the "RaumZeitPiraten" (en: "Space-Time-Pirates"). In 2011 Tobias Daemgen finished his studies at the Academy of Art and Media in Cologne and Moritz Ellerich finished in 2010 his studies of communication design at the University of Applied Sciences in Dusseldorf. They have been performing throughout Germany, for the first time they are present in Poland during NARRACJE.
In the tradition of László Moholy-Nagy Tobias Daemgen und Moritz Ellerich develop "light props" to look into the esthetical qualities of the physical characteristics of the phenomena of artificial light. With a constant growing equipment they are exploring the interchange of light and sound interplaying with the respective space/time environment. In their cross medial real time studies they wander through their experimental set-ups exploring its potentials.

NARRACJE 2011 Work: Light-Space-Time-Rhizom

The RaumZeitPiraten turn the Gdańsk 2016 lobby into a light lab. With incandescent, fluorescent and halogen lamps, with laser and LED and a broad variety of translucent and reflecting materials to direct, to form, to spread, to split, to tie or to multiply light beams they generate a multitude of visual occurrences and their interplay. In any of the installations the site-specific characteristics become part of their lucid collages.
