Jennifer Braun graduated from the University of Applied Arts and Science in Dortmund in Communication and Photo Design in 2010. She has been working as an independent photographer since 2005. She has been exhibiting and publishing throughout Germany, recently she made her first appearance in Photonews - Zeitschrift für Fotografie. In 2010 she made the photo documentation of NARRACJE, with this year’s participation she exhibits in Poland for the first time.
The relation of natural and urban landscapes and human culture is the center of the artistic work of Jennifer Braun. In her series of portrays she focuses on the crosslink between humans and the space they are shown in. Her particular attention is dedicated to the in between of recognizable states or impressions in every day awareness. She aims to capture the unseen and through her photographs reintroduces them to reality.

NARRACJE 2011 Work: Gate 11

For NARRACJE Jennifer Braun's subject is the interplay of the "city of stones" and the "city of people". She invited inhabitants for a series of portraits which she took inside the tramdepot. The closing of the tramline that ended in the tramdepot in Dolne Miasto is for many of the long-term inhabitants of Dolne Miasto one of the milestones in the neglect of the urban development of the neighborhood. In portrait and full body shots the portrayed are shown in the natural light which enters through the darkened skylights and the opened entrance gate number 11. Focusing on the people the environment almost disappears in the dark.

Location: Churchyard, ul. Łąkowa 34A (entrance through the church)
