Krzysztof Topolski aka Arszyn:
When planning what to make for dinner, I usually buy the following vegetables: potatoes, cabbage, tomatoes, carrots, onions, broccoli, peppers, courgette, pumpkin, cauliflower, kohlrabi, celeriac, leek, parsnip and cucumbers. I plan to buy similar ingredients before the concert.
While contemporary music and media art are constantly on the lookout for new, interesting and ever more complex means of expression, simple, everyday vegetables have the qualities that could be of interest for both these fields. With their interesting acoustic properties and very good conductivity – owing to their high water content – vegetables may find a variety of uses in digital art.
I would like to invite everyone to a concert of electronic, electroacoustic, improvised and dance music performed using vegetables as tools to generate, create and control sounds, during which I am going to use the acoustic and electric properties of vegetables that take on the role of music instruments.
On the following day, I am going to use the concert vegetables to cook my dinner.

Krzysztof Topolski aka Arszyn is a percussionist, electroacoustic improviser, author of sound art projects and curator. Noise, soundscape and groove are the basic notions that characterize his work. He is interested in percussionist explorations as well as live electronic, improvised and electroacoustic music. He composes using computer software, creates sound installations and makes field recordings. He organizes presentations and lectures on contemporary music, acoustic ecology and sound art, and holds workshops. Topolski is the author of various projects presented in Poland and abroad. His music has been published in the following labels: Sangoplasmo, Post_Post, Nefryt, Monotype, Audiotong, Sqrt, Lado ABC, Plg, Konkretourist, Pawlacz Perski, Plaża zachodnia, Thisisnotarecord.
